Former Juris Corp Partner Hufriz Wadia joins Kochhar as a Partner in Chennai office

Hufriz Wadia, who had left Juris Corp in August 2013, has recently joined Kochhar & Co. as a Partner in the Chennai office taking the total number of partners in Chennai to 5. She will be part of the firm’s Banking & Finance, Corporate and Capital Markets practice.

Speaking to Bar & Bench, Hufriz said, “I am happy to have joined Kochhar. It has a strong set up in Chennai and I am quite positive about client building.”

Hufriz joined Juris Corp in January 2013 to head the firm’s Chennai office and develop the South India practice. Prior to joining Juris Corp, Hufriz was working in Dubai-based law firm, Al Tamimi & Company as a Senior Associate. She worked at Al Tamimi for five years where she advised on conventional and Islamic financing transactions and structuring.

After graduating from KC Law College in Mumbai, Hufriz completed her articleship with Udwadia & Udeshi, subsequently joining the firm in 2005. In 2006, she moved to Wadia Ghandy & Co where she worked for a year and a half before moving to Al Tamini & Company. Hufriz is a Solicitor with the Bombay Incorporated Law Society and is also a Solicitor in England & Wales.
