Fomer Kerala High Court judge Justice M Sasidharan Nambiar has allegedly lost ₹90 lakh to a cyber scam..As per the first information report (FIR) registered at the Hill Palace police station, Justice Nambiar transferred the money to invest in a fake share trading app via a WhatsApp group called Aditya Birla Equity Learning Group. Once he joined the WhatsApp group, he was promised 850% returns by way of online share marketing.He transferred the ₹90 lakhs in less than a month, between December 4 and December 30, 2024 before he learnt it was a scam.Two persons have been named as accused in the FIR- Ayana Joseph and Varsha Singh.The FIR includes offences punishable under Sections 316(2) (criminal breach of trust) and 318(4) (cheating) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 66D (cheating by impersonation using a computer resource) of the Information Technology Act.
