Justice Reddy had served as a Judge of the Supreme Court for four years from 1990 to 1994. He also served as the Chairman of the National Law Commission.

Justice K. Jayachandra Reddy passed away on February 9, 2020 at the age of 90.

Justice Reddy was born on July 15, 1929 in Kadapa District of Andhra Pradesh. He acquired a degree in law from Law College, Madras, and enrolled as an Advocate of Madras High Court in 1952.
