Fox Mandal acquires Bangalore-based ‘White Forest Law Offices’ to boost Technology and IPR practice in southern India

Fox Mandal & Associates has acquired Bangalore-based technology law firm ‘White Forest Law Offices’. The acquisition has been undertaken to further enhance Fox Mandal’s technology and IPR practice..The team of four lawyers from White Forest including founder Rajesh Vellakat, has already moved to Fox Mandal’s Bangalore office with Rajesh joining Fox Mandal as a Partner.Rajesh, who has more than 20 years of experience, set up White Forest in March 2002 prior to which he co-founded Lex Orbis in November 1999. He worked at Lex Orbis for almost three years..On the decision to acquire White Forest, Fox Mandal (South) Managing Partner, Shuva Mandal in a statement said, “This acquisition will further strengthen our firm’s capabilities in the areas of Technology, Data Privacy & Protection, IPR, IT Outsourcing and E- commerce. These areas will become even more important in the evolving digital economy.”.Shuva added, “We were looking to expand the practice area in a bigger way. We thought it would be good idea to get Rajesh (who has more than 20 years of experience) on board”..On joining Fox Mandal, Rajesh said, “The firm has a great work culture. I look forward to working with Shuva Mandal and the entire Fox Mandal team.”.Fox Mandal (South) has about 10-12 partners with offices in Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad..This is the second example of firms foraying into the southern regions of the country through inorganic growth. Recently, JSA had acquired Chennai-based law firm Vichar Partners to expand operations in Chennai.
