Freebies by political parties will lead to economic disasters: Central government to Supreme Court

The submissions were made during the hearing of a plea by advocate and BJP spokesperson Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay seeking deregistration of political parties which induce voters through freebies during elections.

The Central government on Wednesday told the Supreme Court that freebies and populist promises by political parties have an adverse impact on economy and that is what often lead to economic disasters.
