Gauhati High Court to hear PIL challenging the Telecom Suspension Rules in March

The Court allowed the intervention application of the Internet Freedom Foundation which argued that internet shutdowns deprive citizens of their fundamental rights.

The Gauhati High Court last week listed the public interest litigation Petition challenging the constitutional validity of the Temporary Suspension of Telecom Services (Public Emergency or Public Safety) Rules, 2017 on 4 March [Ajit Kumar Bhuyan v State of Assam].
