Yatin Oza, President of Gujarat High Court Advocates Association (GHCAA) has moved a motion of no confidence against the Association's Vice President Prithvisinh Jadeja and Joint secretary Ami Patel.

The no-confidence resolution was moved by Oza a day after the Managing Committee of the GHCCAA unanimously rejected his resignation from the post of President.

In moving the resolution, Oza has cited inability to perform or discharge his duties if the Vice President and Joint Secretary are a part of his team,

Adding that the two Office Bearers were acting maliciously, Oza has stated,

"During this time of pandemic and hard days, if bar really wants me to function I need to work without any dishonest and malicious interruptions which my two Office bearers have fallen prey to. Everything that I do, they in no time oppose."

Meting out the details of the polling, it is added that a polling officer shall be appointed by Secretary-General Hardik Brahmbhat , for putting the resolution to vote.

Recently, Oza had tendered his resignation stating that he was absolutely helpless in redressing the grievances of the Members of the Bar on account of internal disagreements, which was unanimously rejected by the Association's Managing Committee.

The link for the poll shall be sent to all the voters whose names appear in the voters’ list that was published and used during the General Election conducted on December 20, 2019.

Additionally, the poll shall be conducted on a date convenient for the election officer, but not before June 12 in order to give enough time to the office bearers to put forward their case before the members of the bar.

Lastly, Oza has urged the members to vote in favour of the resolution if they wish for him to continue or to vote against it if they prefer the two office-bearers over him.
