[Exclusive]: Cyril Amarchand disbands 15 internal committees, makes National Practice heads

Change is certainly in the wind, and in the firm’s structure as well. Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas Managing Partner Cyril Shroff today announced a major rejigging of the firm’s internal structure. All this comes at a time when the firm is seeing the exit of five of its partners – Ashwath Rau, Ganesh Rao, Anu Tiwari, Dhruv Singhal and Himanshu Dodeja.

The firm has now appointed national practice heads and practice chairs. Under the new structure, the following are the National Practice Heads:

•  Reeba Chacko – Corporate
• Santosh Janakiram – Projects
• Yash Ashar – Capital Markets
• Nisha Kaur Uberoi – Competition
• SR Patnaik – Tax
• Ipsita Dutta – Financial Regulatory Practice

The National Practice Heads for other practice areas will be announced later.

The firm has also appointed the following Chairs.

• Cyril Shroff – Corporate, Tax, Competition, FRP, PCP, Real Estate, Intellectual Property
• L Vishwanathan – Banking, Projects and Capital Markets

And, moving away from the 15 internal committees announced last year, the firm will have only three, namely:

Last year in September the firm had announced 15 internal committees including Clients and Industries Committee, the Partner Promotion Committee, and the Young Leaders Committee.
