[BREAKING] Gujarat High Court to formally launch live streaming of proceedings of all willing Benches; launch on July 17 by CJI NV Ramana

The Gujarat High Court will formally launch live streaming of its proceedings on July 17, making it the first court in the country to stream its proceedings live to the public. .Chief Justice of India NV Ramana will launch the same in the presence of Supreme Court judge and chairperson of e-committee, Justice DY Chandrachud. The event will be also attended by Justice MR Shah who will be the Special Guest.Proceedings of all willing benches of the High Court will be streamed live, a press release issued by the High Court said. In this regard Rules were framed and approved by the Full Court of the High Court on June 20, 2021, "With implementation of these rules, the live streaming of Court Proceedings of the High Court is going to be formally launched in an online inaugural function on July 17, 2021 at 05.30 PM. Honourable the Chief Justice of India, Shri Justice NV Ramana will be gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest and inaugurate the live streaming of Court Proceedings of the High Court," the press note said.Since, October 26, 2020 the proceedings in the Chief Justice court of Gujarat High Court was being streamed on YouTube on an experimental basis. This was in keeping with the judgment of the Supreme Court in Swapnil Tripathi vs Supreme Court of India. This pilot exercise successfully continued for more than eight months with more than 65,000 subscribers and 41 lac views received on the official YouTube Channel..With the experiment going smoothly and receiving an encouraging response from all stakeholders, the Court decided to extend the same to all willing benches and make it official. .CJI Ramana, on July 17, will also release “The High Court of Gujarat (Live Streaming of Court Proceedings) Rules, 2021”. .The function will be live streamed on the official YouTube Channel of the High Court of Gujarat.
