Gujarat High Court vacates stay on defamation suit against Rahul Gandhi for "all thieves have Modi surname" remark

Single-judge Justice Vipul Pancholi vacated the stay after Surat West BJP MLA Purnesh Modi withdrew his petition, on which the court had granted stay in March last year.

The Gujarat High Court recently vacated the stay on the trial in a defamation suit against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who is facing proceedings for his remark "all thieves have Modi surname" [Purnesh Modi vs State of Gujarat].
