

Jagvir Singh, Partner at HSA Advocates, had recently resigned to set up his own law firm called ‘Jupiter Law Partners’ along with Madhukar Tomar, Meera Chature, Atish Vatts and Sujit Thakur. The new firm is based in South Delhi. Currently, the team has about 10 lawyers including the 5 partners, with some of the Partners joining the firm early this year.
Jagvir has over twenty years of legal experience, first as an indirect tax officer with the Ministry of Finance and thereafter, as a corporate lawyer. Prior to joining DSK Legal, Jagvir worked at Fox Mandal for two years before moving to DSK Legal, where he spent a little over four years. In August 2012, he joined HSA
Speaking to Bar & Bench on his decision to leave HSA and start a new firm, Jagvir said, “ I always had entrepreneurial ambitions and I wanted to explore that opportunity.”
Tomar, who is a graduate of the University of London has previously worked with Fox Mandal, AZB & Partners and J. Sagar Associates.
Chature and Vatts are graduates of National Law School of India University, Bangalore. Chature specializes in IP laws and initially worked at Singh & Singh Partners after graduating from NLSIU in 2001 after which she joined Luthra & Luthra. She worked at Luthra for about four years after which she set up her own practice.
Vatts graduated in 2004 after which he did his Masters in Law from Duke University School of Law. He recently resigned from AZB & Partners to join Jupiter Law Partnets. He has previously worked at Luthra & Luthra, Daulet Singh & Associates, and Kochhar & Co.
Thakur is a graduate of IIT Kharagpur. He was working with Zeus IP prior to joining Jupiter. He is also a patent agent and has previously worked at Lall & Sethi.
