IC Legal hires Nishith Desai’s SA; Sambhav Ranka becomes firm’s seventh Partner

Nishith Desai’s Senior Associate, Sambhav Ranka has joined IC Legal as the firm’s seventh partner, pushing the firm size up to 27 lawyers across the two offices in Fort and Andheri in Mumbai. Sambhav would be a part of IC Legal’s financial services team, which currently has three Partners.

Sambhav is a graduate of ILS Law College, Pune and did his LL.M. from the University of London (Queen Mary). He initially worked with a London firm Morgan Walker Solicitors, LLP, for a year before relocating to India to join Nishith Desai Associates. His main areas of focus include Private Equity, M&A and Investment Funds.

The Firm is also looking to aggressively expand at mid-senior and Partner level and targeting a headcount of 35 lawyers by the end of 2015, according to the firm’s press release.
