India AI Impact Summit protests: Delhi court sends 3 more Youth Congress workers to police custody

A Delhi court on Thursday sent three more Youth Congress workers to police custody in connection with the recent protest held by the Congress party workers at the India AI Impact Summit 2026.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Mridul Gupta remanded accused Siddharth, Saurabh and Arbaaz to police custody for three days.

The three were arrested by Delhi Police from Himachal yesterday and produced before the Magistrate today.

"They were well aware that their colleagues had been arrested. They were hiding. International media was there, international delegates were there," it was argued by the Delhi Police.

The counsel for the accused opposed the remand.

"No hateful speech was made, no police official was assaulted. None of the sections are made out. It is not a heinous offence. No 302 IPC or 376 IPC. It is the political targeting of the opposition," it was contended.

Members of the IYC staged a shirtless protest inside the India AI Impact Summit held at Bharat Mandapam on February 20.

Several activists entered the venue, some removing their shirts to reveal T-shirts with slogans like “PM is compromised” and criticisms of the India-US trade deal, before chanting against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and government policies.

At least eight people were arrested earlier in connection with the matter including IYC's National President Udai Bhanu Chib.

With the arrest of Siddharth, Saurabh and Arbaaz, the total number of arrests now stands at 11.
