Jaipur Bench of Rajasthan High Court to remain shut till Friday, virtual hearing of urgent cases to continue till Aug 27

The Rajasthan High Court has notified the closure of the Jaipur Bench of the High Court on August 20 and 21 while the testing of samples at the High Court for COVID-19 continues.

The Rajasthan High Court has notified the closure of the Jaipur Bench of the High Court on August 20 and 21 while the testing of samples at the High Court for COVID-19 continues.

The High Court's notice announces that hearings from August 24 to 27 will be conducted via video conference, with only urgent and fresh admission matters being taken up.

Cases that were listed on August 17 and 18 will be heard on August 24 and 25, and matters that should have been taken up on Thursday and Friday will be listed on August 26, 27, and 31, the notice further states.

The operation of interim orders lapsing during the Court's closure will be extended to the corresponding listing date, the notice informs.

The Court's notice additionally advises "all concerned" to get tested for COVID-19, and states that the facility for the same is available in the Court premises.

Over the past month, several court staff at the High Court had tested postitve for the coronavirus, leading to the High Court suspending court work and restricting its functioning. Recently, the Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court, Justice Indrajit Mahanty also tested positive for COVID-19.
