Karnataka High Court rejects plea to recommend late Shivakumara Swamiji for Bharat Ratna

The Court termed the public interest litigation as 'misconceived and dismissed the same saying that the award is determined by the President of India on recommendation by the Prime Minister.

The Karnataka High Court on Friday dismissed a public interest litigation (PIL) petition seeking to recommend late Dr. Sri Sri Shivakumara Swamiji for the Bharat Ratna award [Rehan Khan v. Hon'ble Prime Minister of India].
