Kashmir witnessing development; participation in Tiranga rally shows people's desire: J&K High Court CJ N Kotiswar Singh

The Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, Justice N Kotiswar Singh on Sunday expressed optimism over Kashmir's future while participating in the Tiranga rally celebrations at Srinagar..Responding to a question by the Asian News Hub, Chief Justice Singh said that the Tiranga rally celebrations showed that Kashmir is returning to normalcy. "In the last couple of years, we have seen Kashmir developing and going forward in terms of the peace and also the activities," he stated.Kashmir deserves the best with its charming people and beautiful places, he added.The Chief Justice made the comment while at Kashmir's Lal Chowk as part of the rally, which was held in Srinagar ahead of Independence day 2023."I feel that the peace which is prevailing in Jammu and Kashmir will (continue). (With) these kind of activities going on, I'm sure it will create a much more better future for this place ... The fact that we are participating, part of this country, participating in the celebration of the country's independence, in itself is an indication of the people's desire. That is important," he observed. .Chief Justice Singh also noted that tourism is the mainstay of J&K and tourists are coming into Kashmir in large numbers without any hesitation and going back with complete satisfaction. "We have seen also that the tourist footfall also has been highest, perhaps in the last decades. It shows that people want to come and see here ... Kashmir cannot be seen in the light of the prism of the troubled times. We must look forward with this development. I am sure there will be more stability, development in the State," he said. .The Tiranga rally was organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Legal Services Authority (JKLSA) in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority, Srinagar. Several judges as well as the Registrar General of the High Court, Shahzad Azeem, participated in the event.The rally was flagged off by Chief Justice N Kotiswar Singh from the High Court bench at Srinagar and culminated at Lal Chowk.
