Khaitan & Co promotes Abhishek Sharma and Avaantika Kakkar to partnership; Sarthak Co-founder, Rahul Sahay rejoins as Associate Partner in Delhi office

Khaitan & Co has promoted Associate Partner Abhishek Sharma and Counsel Avaantika Kakkar to Partnership in the firm’s Mumbai office taking the total number of partners at the firm to 68. The promotion is effective from today.

In Delhi, Rahul Sagar Sahay, co-founder of Sarthak Advocates and Solicitors has rejoined the firm as an Associate Partner in the litigation team.

Avaantika, who is a graduate of Indian Law Society, Pune joined the firm in 2005 and handles the Competition Law practice at the firm’s Mumbai office. Abhishek, a graduate of Government Law College, Mumbai also joined the firm in the same year as Avaantika. A real estate specialist, Abhishek focuses on the Infrastructure and Real Estate work at the firm.

Rahul Sagar, a 2005 graduate from the National Law Institute University, Bhopal completed a Bachelor of Civil Laws (BCL) from the University of Oxford, where he was the Shell Centenary Chevening Scholar. Immediately after graduating from NLIU, he worked at Khaitan & Co for a year before moving to Luthra. As per his Linkedin profile, after returning from Oxford, he worked as an independent law practitioner before eventually co-founding up Sarthak Advocates & Solicitors in 2010.

The firm has also recently promoted five of its Principal Associates to Associate Partner level across Delhi and Mumbai with effect from April 1, 2013. The Delhi office has promoted Joyjyoti Misra, Prateek Kumar and Susmit Pushar to Associate Partnership. In Mumbai, Adheesh Nargolkar and Niren Patel have also been promoted.
