Khaitan lures White & Case, JSA lawyers with Associate Partner position; Also recruits Trilegal SA for Delhi office

Khaitan & Co has recently hired Kartick Maheshwari from White & Case and Dibyanshu Sinha from J Sagar Associates. Kartick will be an Associate Partner in the Securities, Capital Market and Corporate Practice in Mumbai while Dibyanshu will be an Associate Partner in the Energy, Infrastructure & Resources practice at the New Delhi office..Nishant Beniwal, former Trilegal Senior Associate has also joined the Delhi office as Counsel in the Energy, Infrastructure & Resources team..Kartick is a graduate of the National Law School of India University, Bangalore and holds an LL.M. degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Before joining Khaitan, Kartick worked at White & Case, Singapore for close to three years. Prior to that he was working with AZB & Partners, Mumbai. His areas of focus include cross border M&A, private equity and restructuring transactions..Dibyanshu started his career with JSA after graduating from National Law Institute University, Bhopal in 2005. In 2008, he completed his LL.M. from Columbia University School of Law, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. Dibyanshu is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and is a member of Association of International Petroleum Negotiators..Dibyanshu focuses primarily on advising clients on corporate commercial laws and mergers and acquisitions, including the entire gamut of project development issues in the infrastructure space, with emphasis on the oil and gas sector..Nishant is a graduate of National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata. He initially worked at Luthra & Luthra after which he joined J. Sagar Associates and later Trilegal. His primary area of practice is energy and infrastructure projects.Khaitan & Co yesterday also announced promotions for the year 2014, with two of the firm’s Mumbai Associate Partners, Adheesh Nargolkar and Raj Panchmatia being promoted to equity partnership while 11 Senior Associates were made Associate Partners.
