Mahindra University launches School of Law, former CIC member Dr Sridhar Acharyulu appointed Dean

The University will offer two programs in law to begin with - the five year integrated BBA LLB (hons) and BA LL.B (Hons).

Mahindra University has announced the launch of the Mahindra University School of Law at Hyderabad.

After the Ecole Centrale School of Engineering and the School of Management, Mahindra University School of Law (MU-SoL) is the third school to be set up by Mahindra University.

Dr Sridhar Acharyulu, an acclaimed academician and former member of the Central Information Commission (CIC), has been appointed as the Dean of MU-SoL. Prior to assuming the role of Dean, Dr Acharyulu was a Professor at NALSAR, Hyderabad. He had also served as Registrar of the University.

On the launch of the law branch, Vice-Chancellor of Mahindra University Dr Yajulu Medury said,

“We are happy to announce the setting up of Mahindra University’s School of Law. This marks yet another important step in our journey to become a multi-disciplinary institution of higher learning. It is a pleasure to have Dr. Sridhar Acharyulu on board as its founder Dean and together with the MU School of Law faculty, we will make a real difference in Legal education in years to come.”

The University will offer two programs in law to begin with - the five year integrated BBA LLB (hons) and BA LL.B (Hons) - which will be operational from the academic year 2021-2022.

The University will accept 60 students per program to begin with.

The curriculum of the programs at MU-SoL will focus on quality academic inputs, research orientation and multi-disciplinary integration.

The focus will be on empowering the students with requisite skills and legal prowess to help them excel in the legal world so that they may excel in the corporate sector, judiciary and litigation at the end of 5 years, a release by the University states.
