NLU Assam VC on deputation Prof VK Ahuja, Faculty of Law Dean Prof Usha Tandon promoted to Senior Professors at DU

In a first of its kind development at Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, two Professors - Prof Usha Tandon and Prof VK Ahuja have been appointed as Senior Professors..Prof Tandon is the Head and Dean of Faculty of Law at Delhi University.Prof VK Ahuja is a Professor of Law at Delhi School of Public Policy & Governance (DSPPG), Delhi University. He is currently serving as Vice-Chancellor of National Law University & Judicial Academy, Assam (NLUJAA) on deputation, owing to which his promotion will be applicable with retrospective effect from the date of his rejoining duties at Delhi University..Prof Ahuja took charge as Vice-Chancellor of NLUJAA in June 2021. He completed his LL.B from Meerut University, and went on to do his Masters in Law from University of Delhi. Thereafter, he earned his M.Phil from Jawaharlal Nehru University in 1991 and became a Research Associate at Faculty of Law, Delhi University. He went on to take up the position of Lecturer at Law Centre- II for a period of four years. Thereafter, he was elevated to the position of Senior Lecturer at Law Centre-II during which time he completed his Ph.D.He served as Principal at Lovely Institute of Law and then returned to Law Centre–II as an Associate Professor. He was promoted to Professorship in 2010. His areas of interest and expertise are Intellectual Property Laws and Public International Law..Four Associate Professors in the Faculty of Law - Dr Alok Sharma, Dr Sunanda Bharti, Dr Awekta Verma and Dr Anu Mehra have been promoted to Professor.Dr Shaiwal Satyarthi, Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Law, also stands promoted to the rank of Associate Professor. .Promotion orders to this effect were issued by the Registrar of the University on Friday.
