Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation (Deemed to be University) has appointed Siddharth Raja as the new Executive Dean of Vinayaka Mission’s Law School (VMLS).
Before joining VMLS, Raja was a Senior Partner at Vertices Partners.
With nearly three decades of legal practice in India and overseas, Raja set up and built four law firm practices. He has expertise in advising leading companies, navigating complex legal issues and contributing to India’s evolving corporate legal landscape.
Raja has also maintained a long-standing engagement with academia, having taught multiple courses and delivered invited lectures across law schools.
Reflecting on this new chapter, Raja said in a press release,
“I’m deeply energised by this opportunity to contribute to legal education in a meaningful way. Moving from corporate legal practice into academia is not a departure but a two-way corridor of learning. I look forward to helping build a law school where scholarship, practical insight, and professional purpose reinforce one another.”
The University also announced the launch of the Ganesan Incubation and Entrepreneurship Centre (GIEC). Through this Centre, law students will be encouraged to explore emerging intersections between law, business, technology and innovation.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr AS Ganesan, Chancellor of VMRF, said,
“Legal education today must transcend conventional boundaries. At a multidisciplinary university like ours, students have the advantage of engaging with fields such as medicine, technology, and business, pursuing collaborative research, and exploring entrepreneurship through the GIEC. These opportunities enable our law graduates to serve society with competence, creativity, and purpose.”
