A heart warming letter from a fifth-standard student from Kerala to Chief Justice of India NV Ramana hailing the Supreme Court for its effective intervention to deal with COVID-19 issues met with a like response from the CJI who sent her a signed copy of the Constitution. .Lidwina Joseph, a student studying in the 5th standard of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Thrissur wrote to the CJI appreciating the Supreme Court's efforts to save lives during COVID crisis. "From the newspaper I understood that your honourable court have intervened effectively at the sufferings and death of ordinary people in fight against Covid-19. I am happy and feel proud your honourable court have moved orders for supply of oxygen and saved many lives. I understood your honourable court have initiated effective steps in bringing down Covid-19 and death rate in our country especially in Delhi. I thank you your Honour for this. Now I feel very proud and happy," Lidwina's letter said. She also annexed a drawing of the CJI with her letter. The CJI in his response said that he was impressed with how Lidwina was keeping track of news and events across the country. "I am really impressed with the way you kept track of happenings in the country and the concern that you have displayed for the well being of people in the wake of pandemic," the CJI stated in his response. I am sure you will grow-up into an alert, informed and responsible citizen who will contribute immensely towards the nation building, he added. .The Supreme Court has been passing slew of directions in a case in initiated suo motu to deal with COVID-19 issues. After the most recent of the orders passed by Supreme Court on COVID vaccination, the Central government had changed its vaccination policy and announced free vaccination for those between the age of 18 -44.
