Absconding persons/ proclaimed offenders not entitled to anticipatory bail: Supreme Court

Pertinently, the Court also held that a person will not be entitled to anticipatory bail merely because the nature of accusation arose out of a business transaction.

The Supreme Court on Thursday reaffirmed that a person who is absconding or has been declared a proclaimed offender is not entitled to anticipatory bail (Prem Shankar Prasad v The State of Bihar and anr).
