Adopted child of same-sex couple does not have to be gay or lesbian: Supreme Court to SG Tushar Mehta

The CJI made the remark in response to concerns expressed by SG Mehta over the suitability of same-sex couples adopting and raising children in "such a way".

A child adopted by a gay or lesbian couple does not necessarily have to be homosexual, the Supreme Court remarked on Monday while hearing the batch of pleas seeking legal recognition of same-sex marriage. [Supriyo and v. Union of India].
