Accused in Bhima Koregaon case, Anand Teltumbde has moved a Mumbai court seeking interim bail to visit his mother and family, after the recent death of his brother, Milind Teltumbde, who was also a wanted-accused in the 2018 case. .Milind Teltumbde was among the 26 who were killed in a gun-battle encounter which took place on November 13, 2021 at Korchi in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra. Anand submitted in his application before the special court hearing National Investigation Agency (NIA) cases, that his family had lost touch with Milind sometime in mid-1990s and had no contact with him since. .Anand stated that his father had expired a few years ago and his mother was over 90 years old now. Being the eldest in the family, his presence during such a moment of bereavement would be of great moral support and solace to everyone, he said in his application. On these grounds, Teltumbde prayed for an interim bail of 15 days. .Special Judge DE Kothalikar will hear the response by the NIA to the plea on the next date..The Special Judge had last week granted 5 minutes time to Anand Teltumbde to speak to his mother who he claimed was in a state of shock after the incident. After the COVID restrictions had been relaxed, physical meetings were permitted in prison and for this reason, telephone calls were being restricted unless permitted by the Court.
