[Andheri bye polls] Bombay High Court allows sale of liquor on counting day after declaration of results

The Court recorded a statement of the State excise officer who stated that sale of liquor which is otherwise prohibited for the entire vote counting day, can be permitted after results are declared or after 6 pm.

The Bombay High Court on Wednesday allowed a slight leeway to hotels and liquor stores in Andheri (East) allowing them to sell liquor on November 6 - the day when bye-elections are scheduled - after declaration of election results or after 6 pm whichever is earlier.
