Anti-defection law allows post-poll alliance subject to conditions: Supreme Court rejects PIL to remove Nitish Kumar as Bihar CM

The observation came in a PIL seeking the ouster of Nitish Kumar as Bihar CM since he joined hands with the RJD after the polls in which he had contested with BJP as an alliance partner.

A public interest litigation (PIL) petition that sought the ouster of Bihar Chief Minister (CM) Nitish Kumar on the ground that he played 'fraud' on the electorate by getting into a post-poll alliance with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in August this year, was recently dismissed by the Supreme Court [Chandan Kumar vs Union of India and ors].
