The Bombay High Court is hearing a habeas corpus petition moved by Republic TV Editor in Chief Arnab Goswami challenging his arrest by the Maharashtra Police.

Also before the Court is a plea moved by Adnya Naik, daughter of Anvay Naik, who's 2018 suicide note had named Goswami, ARG Outliers (Republic TV's parent company) and two others.

The suicide case had been closed by the Mumbai Police earlier citing lack of evidence against the accused by virtue of an “A” summary. Adnya Naik had now approached the High Court seeking a re-look at this summary.

Earlier this year, the Maharashtra Government had reopened the case investigation, leading to Goswami's arrest yesterday morning.
