[Aryan Khan drug case] 18 of 20 accused granted bail till date

A Mumbai court on Monday granted bail to the eighteenth accused in the cruise ship drug case in which Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, is the prime accused..The Special Court under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act granted bail to accused Vikrant Chokker who was allegedly a supplier and one of the first to be charged under Section 27A of the NDPS Act. .With this order, 18 out of the 20 arrested have secured bail as on date and only two persons are still in jail..Following are the accused who have been granted bail:Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha - The three accused who were arrested on October 3, 2021 got bail from Bombay High Court on October 28, 2021.Gomit Chopra, Nupur Satija and Ishmeet Singh - These three accused were charged for having been found with intermediate quantities of contraband.They were granted bail by the Special Court on October 30 and have been released from jail.Gopal Anand, Samir Saigal, Manav Singhal and Bhaskar Arora - The purported organisers of the party were also granted bail by the Special Court on October 30.They were charged with offence under Section 27A of the NDPS Act for allegedly harbouring the other accused on the ship.Aachit Kumar - The co-accused named by Khan and Merchant charged for having allegedly supplied drugs to them was granted bail by the Special Court and was released from jail.Shreyas Nair - Charged for having supplied drugs, Nair was granted bail by the Special Court on October 30.Manish Rajgariya and Avin Sahu - Rajgariya was accused of having been found with small quantity of drugs and Sahu was a consumer. Both were the first to be granted bail in the case. Both of them have been released from prison.Mohak Jaswal and Vikrant Chhoker - The first to be charged of Section 27A for offence of trafficking, Jaswal was granted bail in November, while Chhoker was granted bail yesterday. Shivraj Ramdas Harijan - Alleged supplier and supposedly found with commercial quantity of contraband, Harijan was granted bail on November 28, 2021.Okaro Uzeoma - One of the two foreign nationals in the case, he also intercepted with commercial quantity of contraband. Uzeoma was granted bail last week. .The following persons have still not applied for bail:Abdul Kadir - Alleged to be a supplier, he was found to be in possession of 54.3 grams of mephedron and 2.5 grams of ecstasy.Chinedu Igwe - The first foreign national to be arrested, Igwe was intercepted with 40 tablets (15 gm) of ecstasy.
