Ashish Mishra Bail Plea: Status report says trial to take 5 years; complainants ask Supreme Court for day-to-day trial

A Supreme Court bench of Justices Surya Kant and V Ramasubramanian orally observed that as per the report, trial will take at least 5 years to conclude with more than 200 witnesses to be examined.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday observed that the trial in the case concerning the 2021 Lakhimpur Kheri violence in which Ashish Mishra stands accused, may take up to five years, as per a status report submitted in the matter.
