Activist Rona Wilson, an accused in the Bhima Koregaon case has moved the Special Court under the National Investigation Agency (NIA) Act seeking interim bail to attend a ritual organised by his family on the 30th day of Wilson's father passing away. .Wilson was arrested in July 2018 and is presently in judicial custody under offences of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act for his alleged involvement in the Bhima Koregaon case of 2018. .Wilson submitted in his application that his father, Wilson Jacob expired on August 18, 2021 in Kerala and was buried on August 19, 2021. As per customs, a function has been organised for the 30th day ritual at a church in Kerala on September 16, 2021. .Through his application, he has prayed for bail on humane consideration so that he is at liberty to meet his family members and participate in the "mass" organised by his family..In his application filed before the NIA Court today, Wilson has prayed for interim bail of two weeks.Special Judge DE Kothalikar has sought for NIA's response to the application and posted the application for hearing on September 6, 2021.
