Bombay High Court hears plea to release Dr Varavara Rao on medical bail [LIVE UPDATES]

The Bombay High Court is hearing a plea moved to release Dr Varavara Rao, an accused in the Bhima Koregaon case, on medical bail. The petition has been moved by his wife, Pendyalatha Hemalatha.

The Bench of Justices SS Shinde and MS Karnik is hearing the matter. The Court had earlier extended Dr Rao's stay at the Nanavati Hospital, where he was directed to be transferred for treating various illnesses, until today.
