[BREAKING] Centre clears appointment of four new judges to Patna High Court

As on October 1, the Patna High Court has 19 judges as against its sanctioned strength of 53, a vacancy position of 34.

The Central government has notified the appointment of four lawyers as judges of Patna High Court.

The four persons whose appointments have been cleared are:

1. Sandeep Kumar;

2. Purnendu Singh;

3. Satyavrat Verma, and

4. Rajesh Kumar Verma

The names of four were recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium along with the names of four others on September 23.

Out of the eight who were recommended, the names of judicial officers Nawneet Kumar Pandey and Sunil Kumar Panwar were already cleared by the Centre on October 6.

As on October 1, the Patna High Court has 19 judges as against its sanctioned strength of 53, a vacancy position of 34.
