Calcutta HC suspends normal court functioning till June 8, to arrange transport facility for staff till public transport is regularised

The Calcutta High Court has notified today that the functioning of its Circuit Benches, subordinate courts in the state, and the West Bengal Judicial Academy will be suspended till June 8.

The notice states,

"Taking stock of some conspicuous recent developments, restoration of normal functioning of Court has been under active consideration of the Hon’ble Court.

Hence, all the members of Officers and Staff of High Court, Calcutta are hereby directed to keep themselves prepared to join office forthwith, as and when they will be asked to do so."

The notice also states that the High Court authorities would provide transport services for court employees from certain points, till the public transport system is regularized.

Citing administrative convenience, the High Court has added that the services of officers and staff on duty may be utilized beyond their present place of posting.

In this regards, officers and staff have been directed to be in contact with their respective departmental heads, and to check official website of the High Court, in order to remain updated.
