The Court orally directed the local police to ensure that the temple festival and Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations took place peacefully.

The Madras High Court on Thursday said that after 75 years of independence, citizens of the country should be able to celebrate Ambedkar Jayanti and any other local religious festival simultaneously [Sivaprakasam v. The District Collector and 5 othrs].
