CBI tells Mumbai Court it has obtained sanction of State to prosecute Anil Deshmukh

Interestingly, the agency had submitted last year that for registration of FIR for offences under the Prevention of Corruption Act, no specific permission is required from the State government.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) informed a Mumbai Court on Wednesday that it has obtained sanction from the State of Maharashtra to prosecute Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) member and former State Home Minister Anil Deshmukh.
