Central government notifies amendments to IT Rules 2021; provides for creation of Grievance Appellate Committee

As per the amended Rules, a party aggrieved by a decision of the Grievance Officer may prefer an appeal to the Grievance Appellate Committee within a period of thirty days.

The Central government on Friday notified amendments to the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules of 2021, thereby, bringing in significant changes to the grievance redressal mechanism under the Rules.
