Centre notifies appointment of two additional judges to Bombay High Court

As on October 1, the Bombay High Court has a working strength of 59 as against its sanctioned strength of 94, with 35 vacancies.

The Central government has notified the appointment of two judicial officers as additional judges of Bombay High Court.

The appointment is for a period of two years.

The two persons who have been appointed are:

1. Anil Laxman Pansare; and

2. Sandipkumar Chandrabhan More.

Their names were recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium along with the names of two other persons on September 29.

However, the names of other two persons, US Joshi-Phalke and BP Deshpande have not been cleared.

As on October 1, the Bombay High Court has a working strength of 59 as against its sanctioned strength of 94, with 35 vacancies.
