[Coal Scam] Supreme Court allows ED to relieve Officer on Special Duty to take up role as joint commissioner, CBIC

The order was passed by a Bench of Chief Justice of India NV Ramana and Justices Vineet Saran and Surya Kant on a plea by an officer working as Deputy Director at Indore Sub-Zonal Office of ED.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday allowed an Officer on Special Duty with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to be relieved from his services so that he can join the post of “Joint Commissioner” in his parent department, Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC).
