College not responsible for death of student who jumped into sea voluntarily during beach cleaning activity: Madras High Court

Justice SM Subramaniam said since the deceased student had voluntarily jumped into the sea for a bath and one of them died, the principle of volenti non fit injuria squarely applied to the case.

The Madras High Court Thursday held that a college cannot be held responsible for the death of a student who died by drowning after jumping into the sea voluntarily against the directions of the college authorities.
