In a bid to decongest courts and minimise the risk of spreading the Coronavirus, the High Courts of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh have now notified certain precautions to be implemented from tomorrow onwards..The notification issued in this regard for the Gujarat High Court informs that until March 31, the following measures would be in place:High Court will only take up urgent matters, on the discretion of the Court and subject to due notice to the other sideNo adverse orders will be passed in the absence or counsel or party-in-personInterim orders nearing expiry would be extended and a date would be fixed after two weeks.Libraries, bar rooms and bar canteens are to be closed by 1 pm everyday.Allied precautions have been issued by the Madhya Pradesh High Court, to be followed until the end of the week, March 20..As per the notice circulated on Monday, only cases instituted this year (2020) would be taken up this week. Cases filed up to 2019 would be adjourned. The future dates for these cases would be listed in April and May..The notice adds that in exception cases, urgent matters may be mentioned before the first Bench of the High Court specifying special reasons for the urgent listing.
