As a preventive step to control the spread of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Securities Appellate Tribunal has decided to hear only urgent matters till March 27.
As per the Officer Order dated March 16, the Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT) will sit from 11.30 am to 4.30 pm and adjournments can be sought by emailing a request for the same to the Registrar's email address.
The Office Order states,
“Adjournment requests during the period in question..will be entertained on SAT’s email id, firstname.lastname@example.org . Any email seeking adjournment received upto 9.30 am will be placed before the bench on the same day. Further, every effort will be made to intimate/communicate the adjourned date of hearing through notice on the official website or through email within 24 hours.”
Presence of advocates, CAs and authorized representatives or litigants is not necessary for adjournment of any matter.
The SAT has further notified that any person showing symptoms off fever, running nose, coughing etc will not be allowed to enter the premise of the Tribunal and are advised not to visit the Tribunal.
SAT staff has also been allowed to come to 11 am instead of 9:30 am to avoid peak hour rush in local trains/buses etc.
