Initial court which heard arbitration plea alone has jurisdiction to hear subsequent applications: Madras High Court

If parties choose to file an application before a particular court, then they cannot file other proceedings in other courts and cause confusion in jurisdiction, the Court held.

The Madras High Court recently held that a court before which arbitration proceedings were initially filed alone has the jurisdiction to deal with all subsequent applications arising out of the same arbitration agreement [Andal Dorairaj & Ors v. M/s Rithwik Infor Park Pvt Ltd & Ors].
