[TRP scam] Former Mumbai Police Assistant Commissioner moves defamation suit against Arnab, Republic TV seeking Rs. 5 lakhs damages

Former Assistant Commissioner of Mumbai Police Iqbal Shaikh has filed a defamation suit against Arnab Goswami, Editor-in-Chief of Republic TV and its parent company ARG Outlier seeking Rs. 5 lakhs as damages. The suit has been filed contending that Republic TV has defamed the Mumbai Police while reporting about the TRP scam discovered by the Mumbai Police in which media channel is also alleged to be involved.
