Former Additional Solicitor General of India (ASG) Satyabrata Mookherjee, father of current West Bengal Advocate General SN (Gopal) Mookherjee, passed away on Friday morning. .He was born in 1932, and served as the ASG before being elected in 1999 to Lok Sabha from the Krishnagar constituency as a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate. During his Lok Sabha tenure, he acted as the Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers from September 2000 to June 2002 and later for Commerce and Industry from July 2002 to October 2003.He was also the Seventh President of West Bengal unit of BJP. He was a legendary company lawyer.
