The Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) High Court has suspended a sub-judge from service after a complaint was filed against him by the Bar Association, Uri. .The decision to suspend Imtiyaz Ahmed Lone was taken at a Full Court resolution passed on Thursday. ."Consequent, upon the Full Court resolution dated 31-12-2020, a regular inquiry is initiated against Mr. Imtiyaz Ahmad Lone, Sub-Judge Uri and pending such enquiry he is placed under suspension with immediate effect and is attached with the office of the Registrar Judicial, Srinagar wing of the High Court," the order passed by the Registrar General of J&K High Court, Jawad Ahmad said. .It further stated that he shall be paid subsistence allowance as admissible under rules.The president of Bar association, Uri, Shamim Ahmad Chalkoo confirmed to Bar & Bench that a complaint was lodged against Lone by the Bar Association a few days back. In this regard, a preliminary inquiry was initiated against Lone by the Principal District and Sessions Judge, Baramullah. The report pursuant to that inquiry was forwarded to the High Court after which the High Court decided to place him under suspension. .The High Court has now transferred Noor Mohammad Mir, Secretary DLSA Kupwara, and posted him as Sub-Judge, Uri in place of Lone. The notification to that effect was also issued on Thursday. "In the interest of administration, Sh. Noor Mohammad Mir, Secretary DLSA Kupwara, is hereby transferred and posted as Sub-Judge Uri in place of Sh. Imtiyaz Ahmad Lone, Sub-Judge (Under suspension)," it said.
