The Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) High Court has suspended a sub-judge from service after a complaint was filed against him by the Bar Association, Uri.

The decision to suspend Imtiyaz Ahmed Lone was taken at a Full Court resolution passed on Thursday.

It further stated that he shall be paid subsistence allowance as admissible under rules.

The president of Bar association, Uri, Shamim Ahmad Chalkoo confirmed to Bar & Bench that a complaint was lodged against Lone by the Bar Association a few days back.

In this regard, a preliminary inquiry was initiated against Lone by the Principal District and Sessions Judge, Baramullah. The report pursuant to that inquiry was forwarded to the High Court after which the High Court decided to place him under suspension.
