[COVID-19]: Karnataka High Court asks state government to clarify if quarantine period of workers would be considered as "period on duty"

The Karnataka High Court has asked the state government to take a clear stand on whether the period for which workers in state institutions remain in quarantine during the COVID-19 pandemic would be considered as "period on duty".

This clarification was sought by the Court in a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) highlighting the pitiable service conditions of housekeeping and allied staff working in COVID-19 hospitals and other designated treatment centres.
