The Kerala High Court on Monday quashed the decision of the Kerala government to appoint an inquiry commission to examine the rights of around 600 families facing eviction after a property at Munambam was declared to be a waqf (an endowment made under Islamic law to be used for a charitable or religious purposes) [Kerala Waqf Samrakshana Vedhi & anr v State of Kerala & ors].
