Kotia border dispute: Odisha moves Supreme Court seeking contempt of court action against Andhra Pradesh for violation of 1968 status quo

The plea comes in the light of the upcoming Panchayat polls in the Andhra Pradesh with the State Election Commission proposing to hold the polls in three disputed villages.

The inter-State border dispute between Andhra Pradesh (AP) and Odisha over Kotia panchayat has once again reached the Supreme Court with the Odisha government seeking initiation of contempt of court proceedings against AP for violation of status quo agreed upon by the two States more than 50 years ago.
