Madras High court seeks response from TN government on plea by Savukku Shankar accusing Cuddalore prison authorities of assaulting inmates

YouTuber Shankar alleged that when he was in prison, he learnt of eight inmates who had been kept under solitary confinement and were subjected to repeated assault by prison authorities.

The Madras High Court Wednesday issued notice to the Tamil Nadu government and the Director General of State Prisons asking them to respond to a plea filed by Youtuber Savukku Shankar accusing the Cuddalore prison authorities of assaulting inmates [A Shankar Savukku Shankar v State of Tamil Nadu and 2 others].
